4-H and FFA Combined Dairy Judging Contest
The annual Ohio 4-H and FFA combined dairy judging contest is one of the largest events of the year for youth dairy enthusiasts.  It generally promises to deliver a multitude of aspiring judges, and this year there were nearly 400 youth congregated in Cooper Arena during Spring Dairy Expo.  Although each contest includes 6 individual classes, the older 4-Her’s are also required to present two sets of oral reasons.   It does not often happen, but Tanner Topp of Wayne County was the overall individual winner for both 4-H and FFA. Hilary Jackson of Logan County was high individual in placings only and also claimed 1st place with her reasons.  High Team overall was Champaign County.  For the Intermediate division, Ian Lokai claimed the title of high individual for his age group and was also high in his placings and reasons.  The top team was from the Mahoning/Columbiana counties.  For Juniors, Clayton Lamb of Lorain County rose to the top as high individual, but David Miley was the participant highest in his placings.  Wayne County was victorious in the team division.
