Spring Dairy Expo will offer up to six age divisions of Youth Showmanship.  Showmanship exhibitors do not need to own the animals they show.  Pre-entry at the show is required; there will be sign-ups on the Bullitin Board outside the dairy office in the Gilligan Building.  Classes will be formed by show management based on the number of participants.  There will be two age groups showing at the same time.  We will start with the youngest age groups at 4:30 pm. 

            Age is determined as of January 1, 2012.  Must be 9 years old or in the 3rd grade and less than 21 on January 1 of the current year to participate in showmanship.

                         UNIFIED JUNIOR SHOW GUIDELINES

• Junior Exhibitors must be at least 9 or in the 3rd grade and less than 21 on January 1 of the current year to show in the Junior Show.

• Junior Exhibitors must show their own animals to be considered for Junior Show Awards.  Exceptions will be made for exhibitors who may be absent on show day due to other commitments.  In case of these exceptions, another boy or girl who meets the age requirements of the Junior Show may show the animal with the authorization of the breed superintendent.  Such authorization must be sought in writing, prior to the show.  If an adult shows the junior project, that project is NOT eligible to receive junior awards or recognition.

• JUNIOR EXHIBITORS WHO CANNOT BE PRESENT TO SHOW THEIR OWN ANIMAL(S) MUST PROVIDE TO THE BREED SUPERINTENDENT A WRITTEN NOTICE VERIFYING SUCH AND SIGNED BY THE PERSON IN CHARGE OF THE CONFLICTING ACTIVITY.

STATE 4-H DAIRY JUDGING CONTEST

Registration will be in the Voinovich building; however, the actual contest will be in Cooper Arena. There are 3 separate divisions, Junior (8-1l), Intermediate (12-14), and Senior (15 and up). The Intermediate division will give two sets of reasons with notes and Senior division will present two sets of reasons, without notes.  Junior and Intermediate Divisions will answer three questions there are no questions for the Senior Division.
